Who is Mestre Boca Rica
Mestre Boca Rica is a native of São Paulo and known in the world of capoeira and popular culture for his work in spreading Brazilian culture in Barcelona, Spain. A scholar of folklore, he promotes a constant exchange with various masters, musicians and researchers from different areas of folkloric manifestations in Brazil, such as capoeira, maracatu, samba de roda, maculelê, puxada de rede, among others.
With almost 30 years dedicated to the art, he has traveled to dozens of countries spreading and teaching capoeira. He participated in the production and / or recording of various CD's and DVD's of capoeira musicians, such as mestre Suassuna, mestre Acordeon, mestre Aparício Bolinha, and others. Mestre Boca Rica participated in the CD's of Jabu Morales, Leo Trincabeli, Sara Pi and Xuxa Levy, and in 2011 he recorded his first CD of capoeira, including other manifestations of Brazilian culture, entitled "VENCEDOR DE DEMANDA". In 2017 he released the book "ZUM, ZUM, ZUM, CORDÃO DE OURO", an authorized biography about his master Suassuna, that talks about capoeira grapiúna and the development of capoeira in the city of São Paulo.
Mundo de Ilusão, his first samba album
"MUNDO DE ILUSÃO" is the first CD of samba by Mestre Boca Rica (Ricardo Corsi). The project will record compositions that began to flourish approximately 6 years ago, and has 13 new songs. Various artists and musicians will participate in the CD, such as Jabu Morales, Nêga Lucas, Rodrigo Galvão, Bruno Butenas, Gabriel Fortunato, Mu Mbana, Zé Luís Zelektor, and others, and it will be musically directed by Maurício Ribeiro.
Mauricio Ribeiro is a Brazilian composer, arranger, music producer and instrumentalist. After 27 years in the music industry, he has produced several artists in Brazil, Spain and Portugal, in addition to having his music recorded in 3 of his own CDs and in different collective works. As a performer, he shared the stage with established Brazilian artists such as Elomar, Alceu Valença, Renato Teixeira, Maria Rita, Joyce, Orquestra Ouro Preto; and wrote arrangements for Toninho Horta and São Paulo's Jazz Symphony Orchestra, Paula Fernandes, Marcus Viana and Minas Gerais' Symphony Orchestra, among others. He has also worked in the film industry, participating in projects led by Lucio Godoy, Alejandro Amenábar and José Luis Cuerda, and in successful Spanish TV shows like Velvet Colección, Instinto and Las chicas del cable – composing the latter's opening theme.
What the contributions will be used for
The money raised in the campaign will be used to pay the professionals involved with the production and the musicians, the studio, the mixing, the mastering and the press of the material.
The deadline for completion of the entire recording and manufacturing process will be March 2021 and the rewards will be sent afterwards.
