The Last Hours of Eric Blanco

The project

Through this short film we live the frantic and suffocating last hours of Eric Blanco in death row. Minutes before receiving the lethal injection, Eric receives an unexpected visit that will give him one last chance to reconcile with his past.

Who we are?

This is Alex Escudero's second film as a director, after a successful first short film, 'My World', currently in distribution, which accumulates a dozen official selections at festivals around the world.

Daniel Villanueva produces his twenty-seventh short film, having won virtually all major international awards. Two Goyas, a Golden Palm in Cannes, an EFA and an Oscars nomination encumb his extensive medal winners.

The producer company

The film's producer company will be ECIR Films, a producer company associated with the ECIR (Reus Film School), both companies founded and led by Daniel and where Alex has formed as a filmmaker.

The ECIR reached the top of the world of cinema between 2016 and 2017, thanks to its participation in 'Timecode', produced by Daniel, who won the Golden Palm in Cannes, the Goya, the EFA and represented Spain in the Oscars red carpet with a nomination.

To what will we allocate crowdfunding?

For the realization of this project, we need your collaboration. With your help, we will be able, on the one hand, to recreate an American prison in Spain - managing to finance elements for the art and costume departments - and, on the other, to finance the post-production and distribution of the short film.

What do we offer as a reward?

Depending on the degree to which you collaborate, you will receive multiple gifts ( thanks in the credits , the poster of the film, a copy of it on DVD or Blu-Ray, a credit as co-producer or associate producer, an invitation to the shooting... ).

Planned calendar

We want to start distributing the film in January 2021, so if everything goes well, the project will be finished in December of this year.

Depending on the type of reward, they will be delivered at the end of the project or even before (the poster will be designed before the end of post-production).
