1 euro / 9 minutes is a short film written by Sara Muñoz and Rebeca M. Lasheras. The original idea belongs to Rebeca who one day passed through the laundry in her neighbourhood thinking that it could be the perfect scenario to tell a great story. That is to say, the laundry is the essential and main location of the short film.
After sharing the idea with her friend and colleague, Sara, who showed her interest, they began to write the script, which eventually turned into their dissertation for the MA in Film and Television of the Carlos III University of Madrid.
The purpose of this crowdfunding campaign is to make our script reality.
The main referent of 1 euro / 9 minutes is Fargo by the Coen brothers, one of the most iconic films of the 90s. To be more precise, the characters Steve Buscemi and Peter Stormare played an important role in the construction of our protagonists.
We are more than excited that 1 euro / 9 minutes will finally come to life. We would love to have your full support and feel that the short film is yours as much as ours.
1 euro / 9 minutes tells the story of two petty criminals, Hugo and César. They are in a 24h self-service laundry trying to fix the mess they’ve got into just with two hours before, when their robbery didn’t go as planned. Everything gets even more complicated when they receive a phone call from the person in charge.
