The goal of this crowdfunding campaign is to finance the publishing of the photo book, The Journey.
Created by visual story teller Itxaso Zuñiga Ruiz and Japanese designer Yumi Kohsaka, The Journey is a visual interpretation of a life’s journey, a travel journey, with more poetic images than explicit or descriptive photographs.
With intimate text and photographs, The Journey reflects on the acts of travel and photography. This book is more about how you feel looking at the images rather than what the images actually show. The Journey will be Itxaso´s second photo book.

Book details:
First edition: 150 limited copies.
Hard cover.
Size: 21x21 cm.
Contents:
12 chapters - 208 pages.
4 different types of paper.
188 pages of color images and text including 20 tracing paper pages.
20 pages with an interview to Itxaso Zuñiga Ruiz, locations and previous publications.
Language: English with translations into Catalan, Spanish and Japanese.
3 page flyers with translation (Cat, Esp and Jp).
Why crowdfunding and how we will use the funds?
Self-publishing and crowdfunding The Journey with a pre-ordered copy is an optimal way to know the number of printings beforehand and establish a more efficient and closer relationship between the author and the reader.
Reaching the goal of 7.500€ will allow us to publish a first edition of 150 limited and numbered copies of The Journey:
35% goes to the team of contributors for making and promoting the book.
15% goes to the draft, dummy book materials, preparation and crowdfunding campaign.
50% will go to printing.
So... no profits in the short run; it is a limited edition and a bet for a book that we think needs to see the light. All the money raised above the original goal will help us to print a few more copies of the book and reduce its printing cost.
My wish for this book is for it to travel...either close to where it was born or around the world. So if you like it and want to have its beauty close to you, I would be very happy to see The Journey flying away to your home.
Hopefully we will reach the goal!
Thank you, as always, for your support :)
