I will also have the support of Sandra Carrasco, Bandolero, Michael Oliveira, 23 Collective, other incredible talents of the Madrid scene and some fantastic musicians of my beautiful island: Sardinia.

A little bit of history of the album..

The songs that make up this album go mainly around Georgina's Rumba, a flamenco rumba that I composed in April 1993.

It is a song that has a long history .. I composed it when I finished my military service as a sailor on the Amerigo Vespucci school ship. It's a theme that I never wanted to publish because although I thought it was a special theme, I always thought it needed a proper rhythm section.

25 years after the Madrid jam sessions in which currently participate the best rhythmic sections in the world of flamenco and Latin jazz pushed me to make a definitive version of the piece.

Georgina's Rumba is inspired by Paco de Lucia's Solo Quiero Caminar album and my goal, from the moment I composed the theme, was to imitate a little the sound of this special album.

I can say that luck has come to me because the "numbers one" of this musical style, as well as some of the musicians who participated in this legendary álbum, have collaborated on the realization of the first three tracks recorded by me.

The other six tracks that I will make, thanks to this fundraising campaign, will be stylistically similar and in general belonging to the Latin music category.

How your contributions will be used

With your help, I plan to raise funds to cope with disk production costs. They include:

The cachet of all the musicians, expenses of renting the engraving room, edition, mixing and burning. Photographic sessions, realization of the original design of the cover, graphic elaboration of the digipack tritical format in cardboard, realization of the professional EPK, sending of the rewards, printing of CDs and vinyls, production of gadgets related to the project, promotion and publicity of the project, operation (Paypal, Verkami, VAT 21%).

We have calculated that these expenses amount to € 21,600

About the rewards

You can opt for a wide variety of proposals, both at the level of the offer and from the economic point of view.

CD with glossy cardboard cover personally signed by me (pick up in Madrid or sented to your home), two models of T-shirt both 100% cotton (white high quality with the color print of the cover design, black with the signatures of the musicians who have joined the project), the original design of the handmade cover 70x70 (unique existing copy), 2 types of masterclass focused on Georgina's Rumba, various models of cajón among which the hand inlaid Ziryab model is distinguished (the only existing model), a flamenco guitar equipped with a very advanced and high quality amplification system. The family packs deliberately include shipping costs conscious of the numerous expenses they face. Distributor packs have an advantageous unit price due to the higher costs for CD relaunching compared to the combination with T-shirts.

Companies have the possibility of ordering more CDs at a cheaper unit price and eventually inserting the logo of their company in the CD case and on the cover of the vinyls.

Fundamentally there are two types of pack with logo: PACK 4,5 and 6 (shared with other companies) and pack 7 in absolute exclusivity (see the bottom of the page). Supposedly the two types of pack (4,5,6) and (7) are not compatible.

Diary 1: detailed diary (Paperblanks 210x300 mm) of all recording sessions (between October 2015 and October 2018) with numerous technical details and amusing anecdotes.

Dates: (2015, October 20th, November 24th, December 21st) (2016, 22nd January 29th, 5; 10th, 13th, 14th February) (2018, 4th and 5th July, 1st and 2nd October).

Diary 2: detailed diary (Paperblanks 210x300 mm) of all recording sessions (between October 2015 and October 2018) with numerous technical details and entertaining anecdotes. Dates: approximately between January and February 2019.

Cajon De Gregorio model Ziryab hand-engraved (the only existing model) signed by the musicians participating in the project.

The Ziryab model is a unique work of craftsmanship and technology. The best materials, the most modern machinery and the very old artisan techniques have been used to offer an instrument that is at the top of our catalog, a symbol that demonstrates the production process carried out to date. Solid maple wood, rosewood strawberry and handmade inlays are the precious ingredients that make this beautiful object worthy of a collector.

Technical features: body in maple, dimensions: 32x30x48 cm. Body: 9 mm. Table: 2.5 mm KoskiPly® birch plywood with natural rosewood briar finish. Back: 3 mm. Painting: opaque polyurethane. Rope system: 2 independent steel ropes, with tension adjustment and quick extraction possibility.

Flamenco guitar Prudencio Saez, model F 15 in perfect condition signed by the musicians, with which all the arrangements of Georgina's Rumba and all the pre-production of the album were made. The guitar has a built-in K&K Sound amplification system "Quantum Blender" (pickup + internal microphone (condenser) + preamplifier/mixer of excellent quality, with separate channels). And included the case, the pre amplifier case, the transformer and the stereo cable.

2 hours masterful lecture on Skype, from the Blancas y Negras Music Academy of Ciempozuelos (Madrid), where I teach the whole rítmica weaving of guitars (which is quite elaborate) and the exposition of the main theme with the original fingering.

• Georgina's Rumba Masterclass 2

3 hours lecture on Skype, from the Music Academy Blancas y Negras of Ciempozuelos (Madrid), where I teach the main guitar solo and the final solo where I duet with flutist Jorge Pardo.

Who I am

My name is Gabriele Deiana. I am a guitarist and composer professionally active for over 30 years in different musical styles.

I have carried out my academic and professional career in the city of Bologna. Here I collaborated with the best jazz musicians of this city such as Carlo Atti, Nico Menci, G. Bianchetti, Alessandro Altarocca and Max Dall Omo. For a year and a half I also played with the Brazilian guitarist Zeduardo Martins and I founded the Gabriele Deiana Trio with accordionist S. Zanchini and flamenco guitarist D. Bonaviri.

With my projects I have opened concerts among others for Michael Brecker Quartet, Jerry Bergonzi Quartet.

In these years I have always directed my musical projects that include: a duo of classical guitars, a hammond trio, an acoustic cuarte of world music and a quartet of modern jazz.

Lately I've been collaborating with Spanish flamenco and latin/jazz musicians like Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent, Caramelo de Cuba, El Piraña and many other wonderful musicians.

Scheduled schedule

Dear supporters of the project, this calendar is the result of an ideal estimate. However, it is probable that in the production process several unexpected events arise (eg musicians who are not available for certain dates, or recording studios occupied .. etc ..) said this is possible that the calendar is delayed by one month. In any case, we will try to respect the dates proposed and perhaps who knows anticipates sending the rewards!

• 20 July, 12 September: production of pre-campaign video episodes, professional EPK edition, realization of the cover design and graphic development of the CD box.

• 15 September - 2 October: final edition and mix of Guajiro Italiano and Loquillo.

• 5 NOVEMBER - 14 DECEMBER: CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN.

• CONCERT 2 DECEMBER 20:30. Anticipation of the album at Café Berlin (Madrid, Callao).

• January and February 2019: recording sessions of other SIX SONGS and related editing and mixing.

• First of March, CD printing (estimated quantity between 1000 and 2000 units or more, according to requests), 250 vinyls and T-shirts. Preparation of special prizes: guitar, cajones and original cover design.

• The full album will not be available on digital platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Vimeo) until June 2019 to compensate the exclusivity to all those who participated in this crowdfunding ..
