WHY WAS THIS PROJECT BORN?
Due to personal and human reasons, we put our focus on Ioannina (Greece), which even today bears the name of “The City of Letters and Arts”. A Greek friend from this area told us about how they were living nowadays in this period of crisis, the way they were dealing with the situation, and that point of view made us feel utmost interested in photographing all those personal experiences. We were amazed at the fact that no one was telling anything about this “other side” of the crisis, which had nothing to do with what we were offered by the media. So we decided to extend a sort of spider's cobweb that would create a way to tell this Modern Greek Tale.
This is a project in which a new approach through pictures and text where the people from Ioannina will be the ones who tell us how they live, the way they think and how they understand this part of history that has touched their lives.
And there it is where you, they and we can make it happen by offering a portion of our interest and media. That is the reason why we have chosen this way of funding that belongs to everyone and it is for everyone ... because we think this is the way to make things possible.
WHAT DO WE WANT TO DO?
Our intention in this campaign with Verkami is to publish “Ioannina”, a photography book about the life of the Greek people from a "different light". There will be as well an opening event and the corresponding book promotion.
The features of the book are as follows:
- Lay-Flat HV 148x105 mm vertical
- Matt Coated Paper 170 g. *
- Binding Flat 180 º opening
- Finished in matt laminate cover
- 48 pages
We count on the money contributed to the production of the book (first printing of 100 copies), edition collaborations and graphic design to create a high quality book that reflects the work that dwells within it and the deep affection with which we face this project.
