Köllen Bookshelf
Bookshelf created from the repetition of adaptable pieces in matter of size and shape of the objects on it. Its autonomous structure allows an independent working of each of the strips, so that they can be placed in different positions according to the user’s need. Intended also as a decorative element, it follows a clean structure broken by a curved edge.

1. Features
Style
The piece features the typical traits of the Nordic style, either in matter of material or the shapes used. The former is essentially natural and uses light tones with shades of white. Concerning the shapes, the order dominates with the regularity of strips, partly broken by the sinuous border. This latter shape represents the mountains, in a nod to the piece's originary region, which is repeated in its very name, Köllen, which is Swede for Alps.
Functioning
The two possible positioning of the strips give the bookshelf a sensation of dynamism. First of all, the vertical positioning allows for the rest of relatively high objects, for the space occupied by the strips is drastically reduced. Furthermore, the strips can be used as hangers while in this positioning. On the other hand, the horizontal disposition is meant for the traditional usage of a bookshelf. The independent working of the strips makes any combination of positioning possible at any moment.
Materials
The main material used in this project is natural birch plywood originating from Finland of 20 mm in thickness, lacquer in white in its main side and a finishing touch of varnish paint. The subjection of the various elements between them is accomplished by using ironwork of stainless steel.

2. Which is the destination of the pledges?
We presented our design from the 1st to the 5th of February in Nude Congress within Feria Hábitat Valencia 2016, as a final prototype, which turned out with a lot of reception of audience and press. By this found method we would like to get enough financial resources in order to carry out a first production serial of the product.
The pledges destinations would be:
· Getting the final production materials.
· Improvement and mechanisation of the production process.
· Promotion of the product through some merchandising products.
· Improvement of the digital resources used to disseminate our product and also improve our website.

4. Who are we?
A group of four design students in third year of the degree in Industrial Product and Graphic Design in EINA, Universitary Centre of Art and Design of Barcelona. This webpage presents our design for the Nude Congress 2016 in Feria Hábitat Valencia (1-5 of February 2016). At this point, its conceptual presentation is carried out the conceptual presentation, achieved through a final prototype. Eventually, its commercialization phase begins, and its industrial production takes place.
Our way of design is based on simplicity and functionality, along with dynamism and care on the finishing touches Thus, a hybrid between the pragmatism of the industrial product and the aesthetics of the sculpture is reached. In addition, it also turns to the warmth of the materials and the combination between organic forms and order and regularity.
5. Timeline
We commit to the reception on behalf of the patrons once 40 days have passed since the end of the campaign, approximately the last week of May. The manufacturing and postproduction will be brought in a minimum period of about 35 working days and right after, the delivery will be proceeded.
