The Enchanted City

...I always chased photographing dreams so when I discovered that misterious film I instantly knew I had found the key to the other side of the mirror...

In a world that seems to have lost the ability to imagine itself differently the unexpected celluloid that captured the invisible allowed me to look through a different frame and visualize the unseen Barcelona.

Exploring the hidden side of reality to shoot what we cannot see turned into a dream journey to a haunted place where I was atracted irremediably...

After years searching to seize the silent light, the moment to unveil the invisible city has come for me...Believe me...capturing 'BARCELONA INFRARED' was like taking a ghost walk into the underworld...!

Turning The City Into Dreams

I would like to recover this unborn Barcelona, map the night to take back the remnants of this fabled trip and use them to build the secret guide of the hidden city.

I wish I could shoot in dreams like a sleepwalker to seize the city that never was ours and rescue the light fragments of this urban Atlantis, wrecks of a silenced and beautiful truth, to treasure it between glasses like the scent of a lost dream.

These are the reflections of that illusion. Photographs of an impossible.

Vain attempts to catch a dream. *A dream, an illusion, a shadow.

All in all, life is a shadow and pictures are dreams.*

Cities take the shape of the dream that contains them.

The INFRARED book PROJECT

The challenge of this photographic project is geting those dreamful cityscapes back and encapsulate them in a unique photobook.

'The Enchanted City' will be an image-book about a silent city, where the only sound is water whispering. An atmospheric urban landscape where clouds are stopped and luxurious nature reminds us we inhabit a haunted place where statues guide us through empty streets and magic gardens.

The 'Barcelona Infrared' photographic series that reminds us that we only truly see when we truly listen... and we should really put all our senses in it...Let's feel the spell of the silent light that surround us...! I would like to everyone to unveil the visible reality and walk into the dark side of the city.

A real Photobook

....For all those still enjoying the feeling of paper pages under their fingers skin...

All backers of 'The Enchanted City' project will get a unique photo-book including all photographs from the 'BARCELONA INFRARED' series, unpublished and captured with analogue medium format camera using a rare aerial deadstock film.

We live in an increasingly tactile-starved world.. but my goal with this book is bringing the feeling of the classic photobooks back: Printed in a limited run it will feature more than 140 pages of the best fine-art paper stock with more than 100 full-bleed IR photographs. Book size will be 23x23cm printed in state-of-the-art REAL photographic OFFSET by one of the best world specialists in the field, responsible of photographic publications by the MOMA and the Prado museum.

This is not a comercial project and therefore does not search any finantial benefit by reducing costs or quality: on the contrary, it searches to create a very special photobook that will be taken care in all its details to share my photographic passion with all backers... and conceive a very personal piece for each one of them...

The 'BARCELONA INFRARED' book is almost ready to be printed! The editing stage is about to finalize and as soon as the project goal is reached it will get into the pre-print process and we will get the books in January... as soon as the first pieces arrive they will go promtly to each one of the backers...!
