Maria "la Serrana"

Maria “La Serrana” is a flamenco dancer who distinguishes herself on stage by her strength and elegance. She studied with Matilde Coral, Manuela Carrasco, and Carmelilla Montoya. Her style blossomed to its fullest however, when she began studying with the Farruco family, especially with Farruquito, who is the head of one of the most revered flamenco families in history of the art. She opened her school in Seville in 1999 and founded her company in 2004. Since then, she has produced and starred in 7 productions and has been on tour in Spain, Europe and the USA. She is a bridge between flamenco in Spain and abroad, and always searches for concepts that will help to preserve the pure flamenco.
