DESCRIPTION
“Gypsies with Word” is a socio-cultural project conceived and developed by a group of young friends, both Roma and non-Roma, from Almeria, Spain. This initiative has received the support and guidance of Fundación Secretariado Gitano, with the goal to change the stereotypical image of Roma people in Spain. To achieve our goal we will develop the following three activities:
A short film
A photography exhibition
An awareness campaign through social networks
YOUR CONTRIBUTION WILL SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING
Your contribution is essential for carrying out the project. We are aware giving is not easy, and we want to thank you by being as transparent as possible. Your contribution will be distributed in the following areas of funding:
36% of your contribution will fund transport. We have to transport recording equipment from Barcelona which increases the cost of this portion.
17% of your contribution will fund catering. We are a very large group of people working on the project and we eat a lot.
7% of your contribution will be used to rent recording equipment. This part of the budget has been greatly reduced thanks to the support of the School of Film Bande à Part, which will put at our disposal almost all of the recording equipment.
-31% of your contribution will go to management fees. In management expenses we include telephone, hosting, Digital Cinema Package, costs resulting from rewards and bank and Verkami fees.
- 9% of your contribution will fund the photo exhibition. Twenty photos printed on foam, two boxes to transport and protect the photos and a roll up to explain the project.
CALENDAR. July 2013 / March 2014
The project will have an active period between the months of July and September and a more passive period running from September 2013 to March 2014.
The first period will be dedicated to fundraising activities, filming the short film and producing the photo exhibition, while posting awareness videos and other interesting information on the Facebook group created for this purpose. The official presentation of the photo exhibition will close out the first part of the project, and serve as a space where we will deliver the rewards (the rewards will be mailed to those who are unable to attend this event).
During the second part of the project we will proceed to present the short film and the photo exhibition to festivals. The official presentation of the short film in the month of March 2014 will completely close the project.
Active period
July 1st to September 30th: Awareness campaign through Facebook.
July 1st to August 9th: Fundraising Campaign.
August 15th to August 29th: Filming Short Film.
September 30th: Official presentation of the photo exhibition and closing of the first phase of the project. Delivery of the rewards.
Passive Period
September 1st to September 30th: Assembly and editing of the film.
October 1st to March 31st: Presentation of the film to festivals.
March 31st: Official presentation of the film.

Hola Shaddai, a nosotros también nos hubiera encantado que participases en el casting pero hay otras formas en las que puedes unirte al equipo, como compartiendo el proyecto.
